Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) is honored to receive the prestigious PATA Gold Award for Culture from Pacific Asia Travel Association (“PATA”), one of the three most prominent World Tourism Organizations.
PATA’s Gold Awards aim to recognize exceptional and innovative initiatives in the tourism industry. GEG’s winning entry in the “Culture” category reflects its longstanding efforts to promote Cultural Tourism through a wide variety of programs and events it is associated with. The Galaxy Entertainment Group Foundation joins GEG in its efforts through the various cultural projects it had initiated since 2015, in particular, the GEG Arts & Cultural Initiative, GEG Intangible Cultural Heritage Scheme, and GEG Chinese Music Promotion Scheme.
In 2019, the Foundation hosted its first exhibition “Grace Kelly: From Hollywood to Monaco – Artists' Tributes”. A "Cheongsams and Chinese Wedding Dresses Demonstration Workshop" was held in 2020 to raise public awareness of the importance of preservation and protection of intangible cultural heritage, while concerts and extension programmes related to Chinese music and cultural intangibles were conducted in a collaboration with the Macao Chinese Orchestra to promote Chinese music to young audiences. Through these efforts, the Foundation aims to proactively promote local arts and cultural development, cultivate the next generation’s interest in arts and cultural traditions, preserve cultural heritage, and foster the cross-sectoral integration of tourism and culture.
